Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

I can tell you that something is brewing – HR had many many meetings over last few weeks, and the pace is accelerating. Closed doors, unhappy faces, something is in the works. ConocoPhillips is doing good right now, but every time we are close to the end of the year I get nervous as I know that executives are trying to cut costs, we are not working on drilling more, or producing more as the end of the year nears, we are always trying to squeeze out more and more profits by cutting cost. ConocoPhillips execs including Ryan Lance are smart and seasoned, they know that most of the costs we have comes from salaries and that’s where we focus year after year. I do not see why 2013 would be different from 2012, of why 2014 or 2015 would be any different. We usually hit across the board, so you never know what group will be affected. Houston takes heavy hits but it’s much more than that and folks all over the place get hit…
