@Ops Planner: I've heard there will be an Ops cut, management, HR, Finance, and etc.. coming right around the corner. Next payday Thursday. The company wants to downsize in "batches" so they can evaluate as they go, however this next one is really part of the current one, but it looks better and is more manageable time wise. A farmer never slaughters his whole flock at one time, you need to pace it out so you can process the meat. After the next one in 2 weeks, there is a smaller one after Thanksgiving due if things aren't ship-shape! Smaller batches of cuts also allow time for the employees that want to leave, to do so, and reduce involuntary separations.

@Wife without Healthcare: Good luck... there are companies hiring but such a large influx of talent means less pay. I'd cut the cable and just go with NetFlix streaming (8 dollars a month!) The "management" at CSW is absent. The ones that make the decisions are trying to protect their lifestyle. They make 3-4 times more than the average worker and they do that by assembling data into a pie-chart with different colors, and most of that data is provided by their underlings or the workers who lost their jobs. Do they meet with the employees? No. They are gone until a VIP comes to the plant and all of a sudden you see them ask you to look sharp etc. Then they are gone on their catered lunches, business trips, "meetings"... meetings are a joke at CSW! Good luck to your husband, he's better off in the long run to get out while he can. Try companies at Hill A.F.B., I hear they are looking for people.
