Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

To those who got laid off: don't believe that you were let go because you were a bad employee. I looked at the list of guys in my group who left, and I was shocked at who they were. I saw names of guys who I would put in the "solid overachiever" category. I was surprised they picked those guys instead of me and some of the other guys in our group. Our management said a lot of factors went into the decisions. When it comes down to it, though, it's always going to be subjective no matter who's in charge. For what it's worth, our manager was incredibly frustrated at giving up the guys he did. So don't let this destroy your confidence. We who remain look up to you, not down. It could have just as easily been us. You have awesome skills, and you're going to find an awesome job again.
