Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

That is true, Skunky

That is true, Skunky. You've done your research, I see. However, even here in a "at-will hiring" state, the policy was "recommended" to be followed. We see it is not. L-3 CSW and probably all divisions DELETED (with no replacement) the policies Y-051 and I think Y-050 or Y-049 back in Sept 2012. The timing coincided, as you have pointed out, with Obama telling defense contractor companies that they didn't "really" have to be held accountable for sudden RIF. I saw when they did it, as I actually read the "changes in policies and procedures notifications, please read" email that goes out every month. I still smell a skunk (sorry Skunky, within L-3 CSW. They have smudged their way into a bleak, gray area where people are unsure if they have been violated. They have been; but to challenge the whole regime of L-3 corporate and their lawyers, with a small severance on the table and at risk of loss of that little poisoned cookie, 99.9% of the laid off employees will pick up their crap and move on. The 0.1% that decide to get a lawyer will either win BIG or lose big... and there is the time factor, it could be years of litigation. They know this, and we do too. I'm surprised no one sued for the admitted biased "admin" screening back in April, where all of the ones laid off in the admin group were women over the age of 45 I think it was. They took the check, they signed the line (fine print, can't sue us for age discrimination, etc..), and it's history. We'll see what the engineering group does this round...
