Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

Present business conditions at CSW are due to inefficiencies, sequestration, a corporate goal of increasing profit by 10%, Encompass, and operations in Afghanistan winding down. Inefficiencies and the 10% goal demand a 10% reduction in force. This has been accomplished by the previous RIFs, the previous VSO and the latest VSO. Sequestration has reduced CSW income by 20-30% and may be temporary. President Obama's 2014 budget ignores military sequestration. Congress is holding it up and CSW may wait on RIFs on this one. Encompass is going through the usual SAP implementation issues and will work. The response is furloughs and no RIF due to implementation issues. There will be a RIF due to Encompass effefficiencies. How many will be hit by layoffs in the near term? My guess is 10%.
