Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

is the downturn ever going to stop? it looks like we are losing resources left and right - the strategy is all over the place and we are all about cost cutting with no plan on how to invest in future and position HP to grow. i get the wall street part and i understand that we need to be making money but you cannot do shortcuts here - one needs to nurture business just like everything else in life, you need to invest so you can collect down the road - it looks like we are all about turning short term financial results as good as possible so the execs can collect bonuses and nobody cares about future. i've been with HP for about 8 years now and every day is worse than the one before - i do not think we can survive like this much longer - just my two cents
