Thread regarding DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. layoffs

I appreciate Armpit of the World, Anonymous(on giving insight into salary structure), Dunga_Macho, Wake up and smell the Curry, Himmatwala, Daaku Sultaan, koomar for coming forward and giving their unbiased feedback on DDU. The summary of their feedback is nothing but the reality which we all must except. Having seen the company from mid of 2008 have been part of many important formal and informal discussions in the studio as well as PDI, i can say with conviction today that closure of DDU will soon be reality. DDU now stands for Dreamworks Doomed Unit. Initially i would get furious when the dreamworker would say anything negative about DDU but it has taken 5 plus long years for me to realize that they were right in every sense. Lot of quality and resourceful artist have been sent home to keep expensive and offshore artists in the studio as well as good for nothing PM's,this shows very poor management. Even the case with support function is same, only few week back the associate producer has been shown door and few more are waiting in line(do you still want proof that this place is not safe). Any which way the studio has become good for nothing place. The kind of people manager the studio has now is the fact that Dreamworks is not committed in making this a worthy place but a body shop place or else they would have cleansed the studio by showing door to the people who only do politics and nothing else.The dooms day for DDU is not far away. What i don't understand that can people making decision be so much away from reality that good for nothing people like MS and DK are still kept in the studio in-spite of many leads and grievance by the artists and at the same time the best of people are shown door. I am reminded of a phrase "andhalaya gayeta langadi gaya pradhana" It require lot of spunk to tell the truth and I am happy that few of them have precisely done that in this forum by showing courage. Do you know how insane is the pay of managers and in contrast artist gets paid peanut for the best of work they do. Everyone is trying to put himself before others. Correct me if i am wrong!!!!... Its a reality check time for DDU and I am happy that i am not part of god-forbidden and scary place but at a place worthy of my capabilities, I would have also got fooled by their false promise but good sense prevailed at the right time to call it a quit and move to better place. Guys my sincere request to you all is that when you know that the ship is wrecked in ocean and there are life boat on board it is wise to board the lifeboat and reach safe place rather than wait for gods miracle which in this case will not happen. I regret having spent my best of 4 years plus in the studio. The worst of HR, the worst of Production, the worst of Studio management and the worst of HOD's in the industry you will find here, a perfect recipe for the disaster. Mr Studio Manager, if you are left with any shame don't even dare to call any good artist like me to the Doomed Unit. The word of mouth is spreading like fire to all corner of the world which cannot by doused by any means. Soon I should be back with Information on how HR is harassing the artists month after month with cut in their paycheck and I am not at all surprised with the news that the PM's have got increment even during such crisis time. who ever thinks that Joe is the culprit let me assure you that he is not even aware of what is happening in the studio and how artists are harassed or else he is a man who would take right decision by showing doors to as licki* People. Lets keep a silence of few minutes......Amen.
