Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

It’s been a while since I last posted (10-1-2012). Wow amazing how little has changed, once again I will say many posters on this site are clearly disgruntled former employees of Corinthian, however clearly not all and I would submit that if leadership cared and read half of these posts, it would open their eyes and good changes could and would be made. I have come to the conclusion that just maybe it’s time for the Corinthian Board to get involved, maybe it’s time for Mr. Massimino, to take his millions and go away? What is the ole cliché (actually a Eldridge Cleaver quote) “Either you are part of the solution or part of the problem!” According to Forbes (Mr. Massimino’s total compensation for 2011 was $3,413,443.00!! http://www.forbes.com/profile/jack-massimino/ ). Under the circumstances how is a 3.4 million compensation package justified? I remember when Mr. Waller resigned under the heading “His Leadership” wasn’t in line with where Corinthian wanted to go? Could it be He was the last of “caring about students” mind set within Corinthian? Leon Panetta is now on the Corinthian’s Board?? This blows me away on so many levels, first what is the hidden agenda? Mr. Panetta is a Democrat? “Gainful Employment” and new compliance regulations are in place under a Democratic administration? (which in my opinion is good Act in that it protects our youth pursuing post secondary education, but not good for high cost educational institutions, and more so Corinthian has fought since day one!) And Corinthian could not be more Republican? I have followed Mr. Panetta’s career ever since He was President Clintons Chief of Staff, and I have always respected Mr. Panetta leadership. Clearly Mr. Panetta did not do his homework on accepting the position on Corinthian’s board. There are so many good schools out there, both for profit and not for profit, why anyone would choose to be part of the Corinthian schools in way shape or form is beyond me. Yes, I was once part of Corinthian schools (WyoTech), back under the Tim Schutz, Troy Chaney leadership team, that was when the staff at Wyotech were proud of what we did, and Wyotech was an elite Automotive school. Once again I will ask what happened? “Leadership – Leadership – Leadership” There was a time when enrollment interviews were “interviews” not sales presentations, the name WyoTech and education and training received spoke for itself and was the sales presentation. When admissions became a sales force vice a necessary step to attending school (to ensure it was a good fit for all involved - when was the time you heard that?) I knew it was time for me to move on, integrity was no longer part of Corinthian’s core values. I still talk with many of the admissions staff at WyoTech (and some at Everest) and it is really hard to believe that so many are so disgruntled. How anyone can work under the conditions of such poor leadership is beyond me, I guess integrity can be bought.
