Same thing happened to me, I was going to get a medical procedure done so I applied for sick time. My supervisor emailed me that I had to take vacation time. I forwarded the email to HR and also to myself on a private email and also said I had made copies of her email. About 30 minutes after I sent the email I was called by my supervisor and she told me can take my sick time.
