Your words could have come directly from my mouth! There is a difference in years served and the fact that I have already been laid-off - in March. Also,it appears there may be a pattern to the timing of layoffs - the 3rd week of the month? In response to the 4/24 question regarding Severance: packages are determined by lenth of service with the company. And, you can also collect unemployment at the same time as you are receiving your severance pay (well, in the US you can; don't know Canada's policy).
