The Curious, you are dead on when talking about LDS managers keeping other LDS employees safe from layoffs. I would like to contact every local news station about this 2nd round of layoffs. I don't think we can prove the LDS thing but I do believe there was age discrimination with the 2nd layoff. I viewed Exhibit B with the titles and ages of those let go and the ratio of employees 46 years old and older was far greater than those employees 45 years old and younger. The number of employees let go over the age of 46 is shocking. Another issue with the layoffs is the fact that only one person from Human Resources was let go. How is it that every other group had several let go but HR only had one? Also, did you see the number of “middle managers” that were on Exhibit B? I think there were about 140 managers on the “not selected” list and of the 140 total managers only 2 were laid off. Middle management is where a lot of the LDS buddy system occurs. This whole layoff situation smells rotten and it looks as though if you are over the age of 46 years old, not LDS, and not related to an executive (child of an executive, spouse, sibling), you are at risk of the next layoff.
