Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

I left just before these layoffs, 50/50 chance I would have been targeted. The writing was on the wall was that my position was a dead end; senior technical, but a dead end - after many years of good reviews and high performance. The new IT mgmt team would rather outsource technical knowledge and try to save money. It is a free market and that is their choice. I forsee them continuing these trends going forward. I think it will come back to bite them because everyone knows that if it's RJ, it's custom! And they have a high rate of scope creep and requirements change. On the other hand, I always said it was a bloated IT dept, I think we would all agree with that to some extent. I wish good luck to all in your careers and life.
