Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

Boasting about being employed? Not at all. I have been through a layoff before. I know what it feels like. As you see, not everyone that is posting on this site is layed-off, but asking a lot of "what if" questions. Why can't someone with a differing, possibly a more informed perspective provide input to off-set the crazy rumors. I don't disagree that there were mistakes made on a major program, but your assumption that all upper management knew and hid it are so wrong. People that were part of the problem were also let go. However, it is not the only reason. Approximately 10 years ago there was another major program issue that was severe, but the company was able to recover because other programs kicked in and employees worked extremely hard to recover. No layoffs. This time there are also economic issues that don't allow the company to recover as quickly. BTW..this site is not for those that were layed off to vent, it is for discussing speculations about rumors and I am trying to squash the onslaught of additional layoffs that are being speculated. If we can pull together, there will be no more layoffs.
