Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

thanks Camden Kid, you seem to know many legal things- I wonder is there any thing that could be considered unlawful if a company gets rid of certain people claiming budget cuts, but then calls one back and not the more qualified/seniority laid off employees, or does worse and hires on the outside as replacements for those same positions. It really infuriates me to know that they hired new employees in finance, while they let many OUTSTANDING employees claiming "budget cuts"....these were not people who were irresponsible, did any thing wrong or dishonest, just either were not favorable with director(s) or were fully vested, so they slashed them out of jobs calling it a lay off since they had no reason to "fire" ...any recourse?
