Thread regarding Manulife Financial Corp. layoffs

It's only outsourcing if they use a third party vender. Manulife has offices all over the world: North and South Americas, Asia, Bermuda, etc. These roles are being transistor end to Manulife employees - just not Canadian ones. Where were all you people when the first cuts happened in 2005? I don't recall many of you complaining then. Oh, right - because it didn't effect YOU then. I had to find another job at Manulife when my dept moved to a "low cost environment". I still like working for Manulife. The pay is good, my benefits are good and it beats some of the other jobs I've had. Is it ideal? No. Have we been bloated and overstuffed for years? Yes. Any of you that didn't see this coming for years have had your heads in the sand. Some of these moves suck. I hate calling the help desk because they have no clue. I call Argentina, who opens a ticket with Ondia, who in turn calls Toronto to have someone remote onto my desktop to fix my issue.
