Following a 20+% drop in stock price after the company's quarterly report by which they missed by a penny - but which by investors decided they were tired of the company acquiring competition through debt - management has instead decided to roll out layoffs within the organization in an effort to cut costs and ensure a 2nd quarter "beat".

No numbers on how many exactly, but many long-term employees being sacrificed to the altar of pressure on the stock price due to overspending on acquisitions so as to raise the price of the stock in the short term and protect executive jobs. Something all the more sad to hear when one considers that the company's CEO was paid 51 million dollars last year.
