It seems like the company is a mechanical bull trying to shake off people with higher salaries, and I don't like this move. The people with ridiculous salaries will hang on longer than the rest, and the culture will never change. My salary is just above market value but I know my manager and director are way above their own pay grade. Worse yet, they have no idea about how to be innovative or how to come up with new ideas. The narrative is the same even though the parameters are completely different. These types of mangers only know one thing- how to manage by the matrix. I hate to say it, but salaries need to take a hit before any change can take effect. The overpaid managers and directors feel guilt and are therefore scrambling to justify their salaries, but the only thing they know is from 5 years ago. They haven't bothered to adapt to or even learn new management theories. These tigers cannot change their stripes, their salaries are 160% of market value, and they are a burden on the company. If the company wants culture change it needs to put its lack-of-money where its mouth is and stop investing overpaid, obsolete, and ill-adaptive management.
