Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

More disturbing to me is the fact that neither Enrollment, Academics, nor Finance know the standard operating proceedures for how APIN and official admitance and matriculation work. YES, they are all seperate things. These adviors are either too dumb, or too lazy to locate the correct documents for level changes and program changes (YES, they are seperate things with different SOPs - and YES, it is part of YOUR job!), and they don't know how a completed document should look - every day I hear the whining of Enrollment, "what do you meeeean it's not acceptable??" "What do you meeeean we got the wrong form, how can we fix this without bothering the stuudeeent? They're gonna be maaaad if we ask them to put forth some kind of EFFORT to get into school!!" Maybe if our EAs didn't promise the student the moon at first contact, then Admissions would be able to streamline their service, and Academics and Finance could do their jobs without freaking out about the status of MATRIC (hint: if we were really interested in the welfare of our students, and not just making sure we can rope 'em in, we'd require all transcripts to be on file before they ever set eyes on a classroom environment, ensuring MATRIC and FinAid processing prior to putting them in the position to incur a balance - unless a student has no prior transcripts for us to track down and bring in, we have NO control over how long it takes to complete a file and have it matriculated), or pick up the EAs slack with frustrated students who were set up with bullshit xpectations.
