Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Heald doesn't get students but warm bodies. If you have a brain then you are at the public CC whose total cost is under $2K versus Heald's cost of over $20K. The CC is likely to be even FREE should you need financial aid along with additional financial aid such that you are likely to have money for living expenses. Heald like other for profits is stuck with finding warm bodies to fleece out their student loan monies. Heald is just playing for time with a NEW mission on its faculty to "retain the student". Retaining the student means calling up the student on a daily basis to make sure he shows up for class, process the bodies (everybody gets an A), etc. If you don't retain the student then you lose your pittance of $2K per course adjunct faculty job. Heald is getting rid of all of its full time faculty members to replace them with adjunct faculty because of costs and they are easier to dispose.
