Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Final Cleanup at Watson Health

Watson Health has been on death row since they got all the bad press in the spring of last year. That was followed by IBM firing approximately 40% of the Watson Health workforce in June of last year and then the head of Watson Health, Debbie DiSanzo, bailed in October.

Many other top execs left as well. Anything that is happening now is just part of the final cleanup as IBM hopes everyone will forget Watson Health and start focusing on their newly acquired 34 billion dollar toy.

Ginni got to go and she will.... but Schroeter is replacing Gini and he is no better, actually he is probably worse... so nothing will get fixed.

Time for this CEO to go. She has been chopping off every other area and trying new areas with no reasonable success. RA pending on her !!

"start focusing on their newly acquired 34 billion dollar toy"

I doubt that focus will last very long. The "synergies" will never materialize and you can only make so much money selling OpenShift support. Disillusionment will set in and a couple of years from now we'll be reading about massive layoffs in RH on here. Then it will be onto the next fad that IBM is betting the company on as part of their never-ending transformation. IBM will probably be a sub-$50B company at that point.
