A week ago Rometti was patting herself on the back again for the P-Tech program, which trains high school kids for tech jobs and then IBM hires them. Today they announce another layoff—the third in four years. Systematically replacing their workforce with younger, cheaper people.

@Anonym52 IBM should be training their workers, not bleeding them dry and then trading them in for a newer model. A smart company builds loyalty in its employees. That will never happen as long as IBM is a meat grinder.
So whats wrong in that ? I am currently ployed at IBM and if I dont keep up technology (which is changing every few days, not months), do I deserve to stay ?
Just hope the newer generation of IBMers realize how expendable they are. They will hire you for a current skill, and the moment there's something newer, you will be looking for a new job...
