So Here is my question and opinion. In 2012 the benefit package was changed. Things that were lost at retirement.
Paid off life policy at retirement.
Spouse does not receive 200.00 a month for Medicare supplement.
Spouse is charged full price for health insurance.
Unused vacation pay does not count towards income when calculating pension.
The criteria used was length of service and you had to be over 50yo or you lost these benefits. If you were under 50 regardless of how long you were employed you lost these benefits. So I believe those are the facts. My opinion is I got screwed. My question is how is this legal? Using age as a factor. I had more than enough years in over 20 and because I was 48 I lost these valuable benefits while others with much less time in kept them because they were over 50. Anybody have a lawyer in the family. Big fight, expensive fight but real deep pockets.
