So far no good. Last Monday we got informed that IBM has to let go a big part of us here in Norway.
June 3 we get more details. But it looks like this is going to be a big one. Lets see how many managers get hit by this. Most likely 0 to none. And the local unions follow IBM like sheep to the butcher.

Terrible situation for the country !
How IBM is about to destabilize Norway
Some time ago IBM and local Norwegian IT Company EVRY agreed on a takeover of some parts of Evry to IBM. This is including services given to Banks, Food producing vendors, a Mobile Phone company and so on (also some large Norwegian government institutions). Evry has the contracts with the customers and Evry is a customer at IBM for the same contracts.
Now last week IBM started to offer job cancellation fees to workers coming from Evry. Supporting the Norwegian customers. This to reduce cost.
But this is going to have a giant impact on the country's stability. Failing ATM services. Non Norwegian citizens working on and with government systems that pay out wages to 100000+ Government workers.
Telecom providers not getting the needed support.
Resulting in failing Telecom services.
Currently +50% of the workers original coming from Evry are getting the offer to leave by July 1 and get a compensation package if they resign out of there own free will.
IBM cannot deliver the services anymore once the workers are gone. There is simply no personnel that can do the job.So you can conclude that IBM and Evry are k--ling a country. And most of the country is not aware of this happening. (Yes Evry has also a role here. The deal made in the past was a perfect way to get disposed off a large part of the staff and show better results. And make it possible to move the profit to shareholders in the UK) More or less like IBM is doing now. Profit is send to DK and NO is showing red numbers. So maybe the bookkeeping also needs some attention from the Norwegian government.
The local government is already asking questions and the minister starting to look into the matter.
But thing go slow in Norway so the government might be to late.
IBM should be banned from doing any business in Norway.
And Evry forced to deliver on the current contracts. Even is this means taking over the work force needed from IBM.
And sorry this is no fake news. It is happening as we speak.
