Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

It’s real folks.

Wife and I were in line for Tim Hortons this morning, saw a supposed “foreign” vehicle in front of us. I told my spouse, you know that vehicle is more American made than any of our big three vehicles. Said it looked nice, and entertained the idea for a while.

These sell out non American big three, are learning that the public isn’t falling for their games any longer. GM is off our list. Ford, FCA, and “supposed” foreign counterparts more American than our own, are next on our list of purchases.

Well done building ambassadors against your brand, for life. Word of mouth is all you need. Eventually, people wake up, companies get woke, and then they go broke.

It’s always been stated that one of the big three would go belly up. No where in the cards had anyone seen GM to have done this. In 2008, both GM and FCA used a lifeline. Today, FCA isn’t even close, yet GM has shut the door to every unprofitable market, leaving only a few left out of desperation.

Its not hard to envision that this time around, GM could be the one in three destined to fold. Just as many shocked at this possibility, would be countered by just as many dancing in the streets

Good cars at a good price sell themselves.

No arm twisting required.

Wife got a Model 3, it's amazing and it's on a different level if compared to any other car - we will go electric once a good truck is offered by someone.

You wouldn't need to practice "buy what you sell" to force yourself to buy a GM car no matter how crummy or overpriced it was, if GM just made better cars.

Employees, and the general public, would buy GM cars because they were the best cars on the market at a fair price.

I still stand by the idea "buy what you sell". However, having had first hand experience with 2 of the big 3, their management & work ethics, politics, customer service, standing behind their products, etc., I know what you mean! Of course there are some reliable vehicles from the big 3 that will last for decades. But I won't ever endorse such companies y buying their products
