How do you know they were doing a corporate assessment?

Maybe they were in Austin to consult on how to cut the bloated IT group and undo the damage randy and Ahmed had done.

Use that thing over your shoulders and make a guess, where do you really think McKinsey team will come for an corporate assessment?

"Here" is probably Detroit because the people there never really seemed to understand that GM had other locations :-).

It's "center of the world" syndrome.

Tucker Carlson is on top of this story.

McKinsey is rather comical. I suppose the comical side is that companies pay ridiculous amounts for them.

Take a bunch of Harvard grads who know nothing about the world outside of what they learned in business school.

Send them to companies to apply the McKinsey treatment, where they go through their specific process.

Rake in $$$

If only the execs at GM listened to their own people, they could have saved a few jobs with the millions they paid McK

Yes indeed true.

We all got fired to offset the tariffs, yesterday GM asked the government for a break and they said nope! See there is a price for the bailout money received and hanging the American people out to dry. Karma...

Typhoid Mary needs to go 100%

Gosh 25M to Indianna, while doing $2.5b in jobs cuts. Here's a penny UAW and let me get my creepy smile in.

What a c@nt!

McKinney is who Volkswagen used in Germany in the 1990s to do value calculations for large headcount reduction. They run a 3 month mini MBA program on how to do it.

Very arrogant don't know nothing suits.

How do I know? Was in Germany when they did it. Then when I was in California they tried recruiting me.

Have to agree they are always bad news. Probably looking to offset Mary's 25% tariff because China owns her. They look at capitalization per square foot, and human capital.

Sorry guys telling the truth.

Get some nerve, and ask them what the hell are you doing here? Applying for a job? Being nice does not count anymore.

They also advise on mergers and acquisitions, so there may be something to the GM/Ford merger rumor.

But a merger would also result in additional massive layoffs.

McKinsey and BCG are two consulting companies we use when planning layoffs. They do other stuff too (e.g., marketing strategy, sourcing, supply chain consulting, communications, etc.) It's never good to see them around but it does not to mean it's layoffs.

The level of danger would depend on who they talked with today...

I am not aware of any visits recently.
