Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

What a Disaster

Former Texan ASM here, laid off in January 2017. I went to my old Lowe’s to pick up some small maintenance items for my home near closing on Friday evening. I Was absolutely shocked in the poor condition this store was in. There was freight left along the back isle, tags dated from earlier in the week, the flooring desk has four red carts and three flat carts of go-backs blocking access to the carpet samples, no employees around, isles completely wallmarted. And what is the deal with the blue buckets?? I mean, every end cap, both sides. Some have 6-7 stacks. I would have to say in the neighborhood of 4-5 pallets of buckets distributed throughout the entire store. I am so glad the Store Manager and HRM selected me as their sacrificial ASM. Never in the 15 years I was an Zone Manager, Ops Mgr not ASM would I ever allow a close like this. I mean, is this the same across the entire company?

The "sacrificed" ASM at our store was the only good one. The store is a wreck. I left in October and never looked back. You are better off away from that disaster.

Please notify Matt Krebbs that someone called him a stooge. He deserves to know. Thanks.

I was with Lowes for 10 years and got out this February. I was a PSE in Indiana. During that time I saw 5 downsizing purges. They always kept the wrong people. They chose most of the time for political correctness reasons. Sometimes they chose based on popularity. 2010, 2012,2017,2018,2019 all really s---ed as a result. Leads and sales fell every year. Every year it was the company’s fault and my store and I got the blame.

Oh, and Matt Krebbs is a stooge.

Yes, welcome to JCP, except we sell large items that customers need to go 17 aisles down, outside, around the back, into garden, back up main and main, pass the CS drop zone and then wait in line. About 3 hours to purchase a door, unless you need help. Then an extra hour.
