One major reason why they are closing is
1) Zero demand for cars
2) They don't want to pay UAW high wage
3) Mexico is cheap labor
4) It's a company nothing in this world is permanent
5) They don't owe anyone anything.
6) They can do whatever they want regardles of small time UAW agreement.
7) Mary gets her 22 million regardles.
GM made a deal with the Korean government to keep Korean factories open, so they have to give them something to do.
Those factories are money losers, and they should have shut them down.
Because in Korea if you are in the parking lot drinking a sixer at lunch you will be fired. Remember on the news all the UAW yum yums caught on video drinking and smoking weed on the job? Do you're boozing at home, you give the other plant workers a bad image, no wonder GM and others want to close shop. It's a city in these plants and looks like the party is over. Watch a video on YouTube about Lordstown assembly plant and you will see for yourselves, most likely these are the current employees parents , oh brother.
