I was laid off may 8. A logistics manager was laid off also, after 21 years. She had an hour notice, I had 5 minutes. To my knowledge, nobody was offered severance, we got told to submit our time and expenses by 1pm that day. I mean, it was slow for 2 weeks prior, but I am hearing that it still slow. Slower than slow. Us field techs saw it coming but Could do nothing about it. Really c-appy for anyone who has little children at home.

Here’s the mentality of Office Depot:
I was laid off once before and rehired...I know how they work.
If someone likes you in upper management, they give you about a month after they mention that your services are no longer needed. They don’t pay out a severance if you have paperwork attached to your file and terminate you immediately. I once heard about a manager being let go and they begged her to stay because they didn’t have a replacement. She told them no.
It s---s no matter what. It’s just all about who you know like any other business.
Office Depot is like a wounded animal...it should be put out of its misery!!!
