Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Deleted messages

Saw people complaining about messages getting deleted here, so got interested to find out how and why.

Found this thread on another board (seems the Ford guys here were wandering the same here @ZaqhPPO ), these two posts sum it up pretty well:

I've been on the site for a while now and here is my observation on what kind of posts mods/admins delete:

  • Foul language (a big no-no)

  • Defamation

  • Racism

  • Anything that has personal info

  • Using names excluding public figures like PR, Comms, Board and C-Level)

  • Unsupported negative posts (e.g., you will all be laid off, ford engineers are not competent, etc)

  • Trolling (they axe this sometimes, I've seen some troll posts survive but they typically nix it)

  • References to violence and sgurd (read this in reverse, I don't want to be tagged as pitching it here, merely trying to avoid being blocked)

And this one:

I've been on this site since 2015 (first with Verizon and now with GM) so hear me out:

  • mods/admins exist, they are silent tho

  • they delete messages, sometimes in bulk (eg all threads or all messages you ever posted by you or someone else may be nuked)

  • they block ip addresses, some vpns will not work as they are already blocked

  • some words are blocked and trigger reviews, try to enter xes in reverse and they'll review you

  • here are things that will trigger a review, purge or block: swearing, use of names, politics, attacking other people

  • got blocked once, never heard back from them and had to switch ip

  • if someone is crossing the line you can report it on the contact page

  • dont post in weird threads, they may bulk block you (if you do, use vpn)

  • they really cannot stop you posting, use a vpn and you are ok - if you are using a vpn, dont use bing ones like nordVPN as they have them blocked - pick a smaller providedr

  • try to avoid any discussion about race or identity groups, they dont f around with that - that's like an instant ban and all your older messages get deleted

  • i am sure there is more stuff that i am forgetting but this is it in the nutshell..

considering the vast amount of observations across many social media platforms were that people were only buying up to their coupon limit....then yes...the company lost a ton of money that day. numerous people did the math and a few even said the total payout was on the poster and they gave away that much money in one day. individuals in my stores that have access to margin numbers said it cost the store quite a bit in their margin in that one day and they were upset.

curiously marvin never mentioned his coupon event as a reason why the companys margin was bad. he continually praised the events they had all season long for the sales numbers...praised the last month of the 1st quarter as way out-comping HD....but never cited an event like that possibly being a bit short sided.

plenty of blame went around though for everyone else included many who had been laid off who knows how many months into the past.

Post an insight based on operational observations, metrics available, and public knowledge. If it hits home and could cause a decrease in stock price, it’s gone soon after. Example recently was the post thread about how Marvin’s coupons could cost 87 million in profit loss. Turned out, while not totally correct, it was correct about the corporate lack of concern for margins.

So basically anything bad that is true gets deleted.
