I worked there for 5-6 years and have only been gone a year and within the first few months I started in Claims IT... and I heard SO many stories about claims adjusters getting laid off and the current adjuster workforce having to take on these unmanageable workloads... So, somehow this doesn’t surprise me.
Speaking of claims adjusters... I think the movement is to have Property Repair Networks, Auto vendors write estimates, do the inspection. They can spend a lot less to just pay the contractor or shop than an adjusters salary/benefits. My perspective is it looks like when we can, have a third party vendor/contractor do it and we can just review the estimate, write the check and move on. Seems to be a big push for that.
The days of the field claims associate are coming to an end. The Carolinas once had over120 field reps and are now down under 70.
