Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

If Macy’s gave a damn about their customers they would put money into systems that work, constantly all the time! Might I add phone systems that are not a search mission for customers to find the department.

Don’t believe the hype about the company, just look at the stock market. It’s all smoke and mirrors at their meetings they want to present.

Old Macy's MST, now NCR. It's funny now that I have the ability to work at other retailers it is easy to see how crazy the Macy's world really is. No other retailer out there allows their store managers and district managers to move cash registers around like Macy's does. I have six register moves at stores since we changed to NCR and I can now laugh at how store managers are complaining about how long its takes. Get used to it, I no longer work for Macy's only, get in line and wait your turn.

Even if the phone system was good there aren't any associates left to answer them anyway.

response to head in the sand, Your technology does not work half the time. Do you ever hear of other retailers that can not process fulfillment because the system is down. Not to mention store outages on busy days, not being able to ring sales, everything is off line. Now we have to wait days for things to get fixed because you changed our IT support. Now we get goofy guys that say they fixed something and walk out the door only to find it was never fixed. So you can take your none working technology and bury it in the sand.

Go work for another retailer and talk to me about technology, you have no idea what you're talking about. The fulfillment system alone is lights years beyond these other department stores. People aren't answering the phones because we run buildings with 70% fewer people.

I'm glad the phone system is poor.....we are so understaffed , that there is no time to answer the phone.
