Conoco's managements long term oil price prediction and consequential business changes have been very accurate and shrewd and are now beginning to pay off. Management has put the company into an extremely good position. Selling off marginal assets, high investment low yield, and high risk assets along with staff reductions has been painful but necessary in today's world.

It looks like Conoco is ready for stock price breakout and it looks like Iran and Venezuela are going to make it happen!
Here we are at $50 will just like management predicted. We look pretty good having gotten rid of our deep water, high development cost, and most of our low profit in properties. The plan is to keep sizing and waiting until the price comes back and it will just like it has many times before.
After reading this post and comments I went and looked at most major oil companies stock performance and oil price plots for past year. All have lost some value and with only a couple exceptions most have lost a larger percentage than Conocophillips. The exceptions are companies that are several times larger then Conoco . The larger companies have lost much more in value but less in percentage of overall value. It appears looking at statistics Conoco is prepared for a breakout as soon a oil price turns around. All the negative opinions expressed were just that "opinions " and unfounded at that.
Thanks for copying and pasting the same comment in two threads. I’m sure everyone appreciates your insight twice as much as a result. Here I’ll try it too!
Well then quit being a huge whiner and just fix the problem. Just got you started at -100. I know you’re not working so I expect to see reasonable progress by tomorrow around noon.
How you get 10 “thumbs up” to your ignorant post: you give yourself a “thumbs up”, then delete your browser history, then give yourself a “thumbs up” again... repeat ten times.
-1iwf: Institutional investors are not fooled by COP management shenanigans. The truth is COP is not a good investment. No amount of stock buy back can cover up the fact that COP s---s at discovering new oil and gas. If a company can’t replace its production, it’ll go out of business. History in the making right here folks! After all, it’s not just what we do, it’s how we do it here at COP.
Then, what happen to the cop stock?
And spending all the available money on stocks to artificially prop up the stock price? Oh wait that’s Uncle Ryan and the ELT filling their own pockets while tossing everyone else to the curb, greed is good at COP!!!
Preach on, Uncle Ryan!
