Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Only folks from the outside have this different perspective

Most GE managers are NOT managers, they just know how to make power point slides. A manager hires good talent, develops them, and advances their careers. So the managers career can grow also. Very few GE managers do any coaching or mentoring of their folks. For they don't know how to do it based on it not being a GE trait so they can't learn from other folks at GE. Only folks from the outside have this different perspective.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Great post @Zh6ZJfk-cbd

Management? Oh, you mean "collective narcissism".

I can tell you that the leadership training courses they put you through at GE are laughable. Putting on skits didn't help me learn to deal with some of the day to day idiocy that occurs. The best thing about Crotonville was the food.

Wholeheartedly agree. Yes, this. Management at GE is a joke, just a way to reward the kiss ashes and keep the good ole boys club going. True managers are nothing like the waste of space GE has, especially in Schenectadys 273.

I think the site troll is also the random reposter.

People on the inside know there's TOO MUCH coaching. Without it, the GE culture wouldn't be inculcated. It takes a lot of coaching to make 2+2=5.
