We learned that when vendors raise our cost prices, we should raise our retail prices. Otherwise we will lose margin.

To make sure it doesn’t happen again we bought new software that essentially will enable us to collaborate to price fix without calling it that.
But, we learned a lot this quarter.
Marvin just dumped buddies from Penney’s into Lowes DE Shaw selected a few to spy on everyone. But being a buyer for Lowes is not a position that needs swept out first thing.
Buyers don’t just say, btw, ok to a vendor price increase without MASSIVE documentation.
Marvin knew. They all knew. They just blamed someone else who couldn’t defend themselves.
It’s just another lie.
i am not suggesting those people didnt need to be let go.....what i am definitely suggesting is he did it solely to bring in his buddies and not after any honest evaluation of the people he was letting go. then declared he was searching for the best talent which was a lie. correct me if im wrong but he did some of these moves by "eliminating their positions" and then "creating new positions" that were actually the same exact positions.
marvin told me a lot about himself with this move. i had hope in him until he brought in the first guy and i looked up his bio and then the next guy...and then the next guy. once a liar, always a liar...every word out of his mouth since then is now viewed as most likely a lie until verified.
Sorry but I happen to think a lot of the old guard needed to be let go, and probably more still do. I still am noticing that a lot of the same old names are still running around in the halls of corporate. There needed to be a house-cleaning and I would say there is more still to be done.

aaah theres the post that mysteriously vanished earlier today. i replied to it.....dont recall what exactly i said...something to the tune of previous lowes execs seemed to be able to work with those old archaic tools....yadda yadda yadda.......and all these current guys seem to be in over their heads...all working one position higher than their abilities and previous experience level. all about how marvin and his crew have gone from hd to penneys to lowes while marv preached no good ole boy network HERE...only the BEST and BRIGHTEST! how he pushed out all of the previous regime....some of which may have had a lot of knowledge and wisdom that could have come in handy for a newbie ceo.
wonder what exactly about that deleted thread struck a nerve that caused it to be immediately pulled.......
and these people are our "leaders", the examples. jees, we are all f---ed.
