Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Teamwork

State Farm stresses teamwork and inclusion. It appears from these posts, Glassdoor, and tenure the leadership has forgotten their team makes the plays to be a winner. Leadership is not learned by CPCU, CLU, AIC etc. It is the ability to have the heart and drive to recognize the drive necessary to provide a quality product for BOTH the internal and external customers. It appears State Farm needs to go back to basics.

Designations do not improve performance unless they have specific bearing on one's job. A CLU has no relationship to an Auto Claims Representative or the Ad Services gift store cashier. There has been too much waste on these programs over the years. When I was new at the Farm, I remember seeing a nurse that had four or five designations already earning another and going on the all expenses paid trip again.

These posters are out of touch. Metrics are not focused on anymore. Also, the reason we are struggling is because CPCU, CLU, etc are not priority in todays workplace. The younger generation just can't get thru these programs. The knowledge base is deteriorating quickly.

It shouldn't be called teamwork, we handle each call individually ourselves not as a team, it's not like we are allowed to consult with our team members if we have a questions, we are to either call the CTL line or look in the SCP's..so no we don't handle calls as a team. Not sure why we are called "teams", we should be called direct reports not team members. I have certainly never felt like I was on a team, has anyone?

These so-called teams we are on are just so they can pit us against each other, and create a lord of the flies environment..because you are stood up in front of all of your peers in front of a board reflecting EVERY que/compliance/adherence that you have just achieved or not achieved.

Thing is most of us stopped caring a long time ago about each others stats because we know how stressful the metrics can be to achieve everyday..and what exactly are we supposed to do to our fellow team members anyway? give them the evil eye..lol

Teamwork is awesome when you are stood up in front of all of your peers in front of a board reflecting EVERY que/compliance/adherence that you have just achieved....Not what I call a friendly competition; at this point more like a bad TV documentary of K--l-Or-Be-K--led sort of thing.
