Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

New employees being brought in

And we are told to train them.

This seems a bit like I'm training my own replacement right now, but I'm not sure what to do about it. If I refuse, I'm fired. If I teach them how to do my job, I'm gone next round.

Either way, I'm screwed. Are other people facing something similar? Or have faced? What did you do in this case?

Be smart, train them with wrong information. Fast and get out to your new job...And next time get a union job this would never happened here if there was a union..

That’s what we all have done as we trained our offshore replacements. One commenter suggested doing a half a**ed job. It doesn’t make any difference. None. Is there a warm body in a chair? That’s your replacement. Period. The fact that they can not communicate evenly marginally well in English, verbal or written, makes NO difference. I am stunned that people still believe Xerox is trying to overcome. This is merely a waiting game. Reach the right $ per share and Mother X is history.

Be smart about it. Look like you’re training, but make sure it’s half-assed. You’re fighting for your job, don’t worry about being a “professional”, the Corporate people showed what they think of the workers already.

Somewhere in the HCL chain there will be an Indian manager you interface with. HCL employees are not like Xeroids, they work 100% for that manager, 0% for the good of the product or company. Act the same way as the employees, but make sure you dole out your knowledge in tiny bits. Even then, make sure to show you are irreplaceable.

I just want HCL to replace all the people that have left our core. We are down about 15 people since they rebadged us. Some left months ago and are still left open. We had someone from the accounting group leave that was still xerox. The managers here had them replaced in TWO WEEKS. What a great illustration how incompetent HCL is.

If the HCL people can learn your job, you’ll be replaced. If they can’t, you’ll go back to Xerox, maybe. All rebadged people should look for other jobs and not teach HCL anything.

We have brought in TEMP HCL employees since some of our staff has left. How weird is that?! So right now, we have a "real" employee (who was rebadged to HCL) training a new, "temp" HCL employee. So, the temp HCL employee is going to do... what, exactly? Pass along the information to the "real" HCL employee overseas? I'm so confused.

Are you currently a Xerox or HCL employee?
