Agree with prcm-everyone in claims suffers from mental illness.
I can understand your unhappiness. There is so much mental illness at SF especially in claims at ALL levels.
Ozso-I am sorry you are so unhappy. I don’t know but suspect you are just as unhappy in your non-work life too. That is a rough way to go through life. I have never personally given SF the privilege of creating my happiness. My family, friends and volunteer work all influence my personal well being. SF did not give birth to me, I am not married to SF or under any illusion they are there to take care of me. We have a non-contractual agreement-I work they pay. I do the best job I can for my sense of self worth. I have enjoyed most of the people, although not all, I have worked along side in my 32 years(claims,Underwriting, back to claims.) I am confident if I choose to leave sometime I could find comparable work elsewhere. I am in control of life not my employer. I wish you the best.
I don't know of one person that I work with who is happy. Not a one. So I can't add anything...
We used to be really happy when we were ACC.....now that we are Express, well we are miserable!
We are micro-managed to a point that they treat us like babies that don't know how to function in the world and they pay us like it too. We are not allowed to work claims like they should be, we are only allowed to give each person 9-12 minutes of our time for each call and have under 6 minutes once we are done to make sure we have done everything that needs to done in a claim. Sometimes we let a claim go knowing we needed to more but we just aren't allowed to because we risk losing our jobs if we don't say in the green.
We come in and work sick, no wonder we make mistakes and miss things, we stay at our desks and work sick because we can't leave because we know we are going to get points, again no wonder we make mistakes, we are always under such stress.
We get a call from a child or a parent that needs us and we cannot go because we will get points and may even be fired if we got too many points, so we sit and take calls with our hearts heavy and our minds elsewhere, no wonder we make mistakes.
We are constantly under so much stress every single day and every single minute because we are constantly aware that is if we don't stay in green, get too many points, don't meet out numbers it bye bye Felicia. No wonder we aren't happy.
We have managers that stick us in back and twist the knife, always on a power trip and loving the fact that they can micro manage us, harass and bully us and know that no one is going to hold them accountable, because they know you cannot go to HR about them. HR protects them not us.
But hey if anyone is happy at SF let us know and what dept. you work in, we would all like to hear ????
So we learned here that the happiest employees are the ex-SF employees.
Get out if you can. You will be happier.
I'm retired. Best move I ever made. Yes I am very happy but would not do it again in today's environment. Not a career job.
Laid off in August & now more stress & less money. Not was I was hoping for but wouldn’t want to be with SF getting treated like c-ap & waiting for more downsizing. Hoping to find something better
I am happy. We have a lot of freedom in my area, including work from home without the need to ask for permission. I feel empowered to make good decisions and my boss doesn’t micromanage me. I have 5 weeks of PTO a year and can take it whenever I want. We have a monthly team outing during work time. Yes there are things that frustrate me, but it was way worse where I worked before. I’m not a troll, I guess I’m in a department that doesn’t micromanage like Claims or the call center. I’d be quite frustrated in that environment as most of you are.
I'm very happy at work. But then I got walked out on August 31 and now have a good job. More money, less stress, better benefits. MUCH better benefits.
I am very happy.
I am very happy — a great company that treats employees better than any other employer I’ve worked for.
