Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Intervention

These posts are starting to sound like an AA Meeting. Everybody has an addiction to working for Pepsi and can’t seem to stop. Like an addict, you people come in and get your fix everyday knowing deep inside that it only leads to a dark place. You will beg, borrow or steal to feed your addiction. All the while the dealers will keep feeding your high until you serve no more purpose. Then you will be left on the curb with all the other addicts begging for quarters. Respect yourself and take control of your life !!!

Here is the deal people. If you are just waiting for things to happen you must be playing it too safe. The older you get the harder it will be to find another job. I fully understand how angry people are about the layoffs, instability and low moral but at this venture, I suggest that you think hard and fast because you and your families deserve much better. Take action now while you have a job. It would be much easier to secure another position when you have a job. Experienced professionals like you should have no issues but if you wait for a package then you may or may not be so lucky and face the daily pain of going to work to a place that you simply don’t like anymore. The reality is that PepsiCo and many competitors had embraced the outsourcing and cutting cost initiatives to invest more capital in A&M to grow the top line for a change and increase the value of their stocks. So this is the new business model of today and the future as automation and analytics will eventually take precedence over existing jobs by the thousands. PepsiCo is just one of the Last to implement this model, this is historically how they react to change. Good luck to you all of you.

You're right. I'm sure Coca Cola will hire IT people from Pepsi - - NOT – only if they come from India.
