Wow what an experience it is when you have a computer issue or IT issue. Talk about a waste of time or time management. This company is so far behind when it comes to that. The Help Desk is really the Helpless Desk. Unbelievable what you have to go through for computer issues. You think Senior Management cares? I don't think so. It's all about cutting cost at the expense of wasting time and money.

Easier to offshore than try to re engineer processes to work better and more efficient. Leadership view is we can offshore it and let the remaining FTEs stateside deal with it, then blame them when things don't work out so well.

Well it's a shame because we always hope to get help from Dallas. Now we have to work with teams that you can't understand a word they are saying and they screw things up more than they fix them. I have had more computer issues with updates. Talk about having to reboot and reboot. It's a mess and it's such a disaster when you think about time management. Most of your time is spent trying to reconnect and use different programs. Now we are going to have another country handle things when you can't even communicate with them. Was this recommended by Senior Management, a consultant or McKinsey. Not smart on the part of who recommended this change.

This is very true. The number rif'd hasn't been disclosed. I will say from experience of an AIG RIF in 11/2010, this economy is so good you won't stay unemployed very long. TX has a lot to offer. It's not the end of the world. Deal with it and don't look back. AIG is the worst company on the planet.

Dallas/Ft Worth area is booming. You'll get a good job soon.

Maximize the use of transition services. It helped me.

I heard there was a decent chunk of RIFs in IT and Shared Services. Anyone know about it?

So Sad to see our American jobs going overseas. The president is working hard to bring jobs back to the US, and the economy is doing great. I which president Trump will place heavy penalties to those companies moving jobs overseas. I hope our co-workers do find good-paying jobs. God bless everyone.
