I didn't get a premature COBRA, but mine , without dental and bison, would have been $2100/month. No one can afford that. I couldn't anyway. You have no choice but to do Obamacare. You'll qualify for special enrollment so you can get on it. Because you're unemployed, you'll get some subsidy. Unless your wife is loaded. Be careful tho. Whatever plan you choose, call up that insurance and make sure your docs are in their network. It took me 3 plans to get the right one. You could also call your docs billing department and ask if they take a plan you are choosing but even they may not know or will tell you to do what I just told you: call the ins company. Just got on my 3rd plan in 3 months yesterday. BCBS Silver Saver plan. $460/month after my subsidy

I wouldn’t be surprised if they screwed up, but double check your paper work. My coverage was supposed to end on May 31st. I had autopay set up, and they took money to pay for the June coverage premium, then towards the end of June they realized they made a mistake a mailed me a refund check.

COBRA $ I saw for salaried will be cheaper than other options, especially if you hit your deductible.

It appears they entered an incorrect duration for my severance. Likely due to the Delphi years. Aargh. Hopefully straightened out soon.
