Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

How could IT possibly be successful in this environment?

First they cut IT budget year over year, and then deeper mid-year cuts in the name of "productivity" - leaving people to figure out how to support systems with expired maintenance, obsolete hardware with no permitted outages, etc. When that wasn't enough, they started cutting the most tenured people - sometimes people who possessed key legacy knowledge or were solely supporting key, but unknown systems.

How could IT possibly be successful in that environment?

As for those that remain - I think it's only partly out of a sense of trying to do right by others left in the boat with them. For most, its not wanting to part with what could be a lucrative package. For some, the local job market may not be as strong as in Plano. Whatever the reason, they don't deserve disrespect.

Excellent point, @ZXeYdVe-psv.

Maybe 1 more year, and the rest of the Desktop Support team will also be outsourced (or paid as contractors for yet another Indian-based "managed services provider"). As it is now, nothing works, and when systems go offline, the offshore team couldn't care less. PEP is just another client in the database to them. Thanks JD and IN. You really screwed loyal associates.

In this year's PDR, under the Drive Org Health category put down "Sorry, I can't save this dump, the disease is terminal, unless all of the leadership is sold off for sc-ap and replaced."

Battle has been lost unfortunately. Ik and her cronies created perfect self enrichment cash cow. Dixon wasted billions but was given a pat on the back and parted. A decade of complete wasted spending. It wasvus who paid the ultimate price of these hyenas.
