So former pc, who went through the panel interview, did not get selected and now they are hiring to fill the people lead through internal store interviews, I have 10 years experience compared to these new internals 0 experience. The market team did us wrong.

Former PC here who opted out and is taking a huge payout to demote . Over 20 years with the company. I whole heartedly agree this move was a way to "filter out" those who were already near the cap for this new payscale! Pretty sad to see such qualified and talented associates decide to walk away. I'm leaving with my head held high. I made this decision to walk away. My last week will be training the new People Lead. A true slap in the face if you ask me. But many are doing the exact same thing. Good Luck to everyone, whatever route you decided to take. I think they will really regret this move. These people were the heart of the store.

The people lead who took my store can’t seem to do her job by herself, always asking for my help. If she is so better qualified, why can’t she do the job? Just waiting for my transfer out!

Thought this People Lead position was going to be a "NEW" position? My best friend is a People Lead and she told me she is doing the exact same (job duties plus doing schedules for her store) as when she was the personnal coordinator. Not sure what is really going on. My best friend is super confused!

The personnel coordinator in my store got the people lead also. Shes been working the new hours. She has been with the company for over 26 years. The T/C has been working the floor since the first of the month. Shes also been with the company 26 years. Shes taking the severance and leaving. Most of the P/Cs in my market were picked for people lead. Most of the T/Cs are taking the severance. I'm in central California. Not sure why my market seems to be so much different than every other market.

I have 30 years of service, 61 years of age. I applied, went through the whole interview process. The week before positions were announced, my store manager was terminated for “store standards “ , even though the store has good sales and one of the top stores in the market. Then one of our ASM quit because they feared of losing their position when the “team lead” structure rolls out. Then I was told I did not receive a position, asked me what were my plans and reassured me that the Market team wanted to make sure that I was taken care of. I opted to transfer to the store that was going to be combined with my store for the People Lead, because I felt uncomfortable to stay in the same store and watch my loyal employees report to this person. Then I was told it would suit me better to stay in my store as a new support and would benefit the store as well. Not happening, I demoted myself and accepted a lower paying position elsewhere, but was asked to stay till the end of the month, but was not allowed to perform any personnel duties. People lead keeps asking for my help, who also has tenure with the company. I can’t wait to escape!

I am a PC who has been drinking the Walmart kool aid for over 20 years. I decided not to go for the People Lead and accept the severance package. About half the PCs in our market made the same decision. Those that did decide to go for the position were not offered one. In fact, no one was chosen and the market is scrambling around trying to find suitable applicants. Those PCs were obviously the most qualified for the position and had many years of service and were at the top of the pay scale. This is proof that this new position was just a way to eliminate the higher paid longer tenured associates and replace them with younger and cheaper tech savvy people. Literally by removing PCs they ripped the heart out of the store.

Our personnel lady who was not chosen is working the new hours her replacement will have. Still doing orientations and taking care of business. This will be one rocky ride! She's been here 25 years and is the only one that does things right in back!

It was explicitly written in the documentation that PC/TC had to leave the office by 7/2 if another PL was chosen. They would not train the PL. They could work elsewhere in the store until Aug 2nd if they choose to do so. So, training the PL needs to be reported to the MHRM.

Our personnel manager was told to leave the office on Friday and that she would not be assisting the new people lead with anything. She was told that she could work freight, put up returns and zone until August. She opted for the severance package and would have been leaving then. She is gone now---using pto time and personal time to cover the time for the next few weeks. This happened in all stores in the market. Some stayed but most are using pto time.

Sure, what else would you expect? Just like the Cash Office people were asked to learn the recycler and train the CSMs.
