The last 2 CBDMs I worked with were lazy. Made a big deal out of schools calling in ordering books. They did nothing for the sale. School called ordered the book. Books come in . Receiving stored them, sent them out when CBDM told her to. CBDM goes around “ crowing” about the big sale HE did.
On the rare occasion he had to deliver to a school. He had Receiving bring it through the store and put it in his car. He wasn’t worth $20,000 a year . EVERYONE else did the actual work.
We’ve got one of those corrupt DMs in CA! She leads by fear, cusses at people, gets the SMs to do HER job. She has zero accountability and is the most disrespectful, vile human I’ve ever met. I hope the new ownership wipe all the DM’s out. They are worthless!!!!
The one from New England has fired people illegally. I know several people who have been let go without good reason. Also they would force people to quit. Many of the cases should've gone to court.

I know who you’re talking about in Kentucky. Had us put up endcaps of books he brought. ( not on the monthly planner)Told us not to return them ( in many cases they were non returnable!)

This company is so disgusting and corrupt. I wish NY Times or someone would do a story on them.
Where have you been? Before being laid off my store wasn't giving a raise of any kind. One year they'd say: "Oh, you've been capped." Then next year, you get 25 cents. Then next year ... again "Oh, you've been capped." Neve made sense.
Then all the other booksellers (who weren't leads) were not getting any raise at all. THE DAMN RAISE WAS A DAMN 25 CENTS! They couldn't afford 25 cents?

They’ve been drinking the Kool Aid for so long they make excuses for staying with the company that funds floats in parades but won’t pay loyal longtime employees.
