Life Sciences Maryland looming pending layoffs-yes. Keeping it hidden very well. The post of Life Sciences Maryland is right on target. People have to recognize that the obligation of the corporate leadership is to the shareholders not employees. That has to be our focus. All team members must recognize this fact. No BD employee is guaranteed a job. That sounds cold but that’s the way it has to be. Employees are here for the sole goal of corporate profits and are on the ride as long as it suits and benefits shareholders. Outsourcing is a good thing to the taxpayers. We must always look at the future, what people have done whether working for rebates with vendors, logistics efficiency, emerging IT protocols-these things do not matter. Take it day by day and recognize that employees, and yes their kids who they have helped secure jobs for, all employees exist for the benefit of profits for shareholders. That has to be the number one concern for all of us.

Sounds a lot like Animal Farm.
BD is clueless when it comes to master data. Planners pat themselves on the back, have charts everywhere working outside the system, and NEVER meet the goals. Most are/were well below 90%.
Outsourcing is CLEARLY not working. We have bad master data in every single source of record system we own. Oh wait, that's right. We don't own it anymore. The 3'rd party owns it and couldn't care less if it's accurate or not. Everyone at BD is dealing with the fall-out. And by the way, MANY BD employees are ALSO Shareholders... and as a Shareholder I am definitely not happy with any of it.
Are you a crack head? People awe nothing to BD. They are corporate pigs that line their pockets, just like any other company. Remember, it's might be a company, but real people make the decisions. Glad I left. Life is better. Nothing but fake people high in the ranks.
This posting is difficult to embrace, however, it is absolutely accurate. Whether you are in IT, HR, R&D, Supply Chain or in one of the absurdly ridiculously overpaid areas like, Sustainability Engineer -no one in BD is guaranteed a job tomorrow. There is a reason we are not unionized. Employees at BD must recognize that we live it high off the hog and must understand that we do so day by day. We must out the needs of the company ahead of ourselves. You owe that to the company. It matters not how much you think you are worth or how much you think you have saved the company, we are all here temporarily. Have a graduate degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics or whatever - our jobs are temporary. Those mopeds who complain that they had to work during the winter holiday party or have to come in weird hours to meet with auditors, stop whining. We have a responsibility to make profit for shareholders. There is no time to take your 30+ hear old son who is a health care professional to his doctor on company time. No whining. Just work for the shareholders. They should be the most important thing to all of us.
