Curious if anyone that works there knows if they are actually going to close the facility, any news as to what's going on there?

Sounds almost like nothing is set in stone? Yes why does GM continue to destroy their reputation and public image, they just can't seem to settle all the movement and stay solid! Truth is do you see all the other OEMs continuously closing buildings and moving people? No you don't so why always GM? Such a large investment in Pontiac in recent years only to close, ummm CFO is to blame along with bean counters that can't keep people in one place, GM must have allot of free cash to burn I guess.

Some people don't like the new changes and progress in Detroit, why is that?
It's allot cleaner and business is booming, why wouldn't anyone like that?

I believe it is, it has the potential to be a solid city once again. Let's hope and pray it dosent turn into a Californication ....
Back around 07-08 I had a really good supervisor at GM that started his life at the Cadillac plant in Detroit, he was 18 and retired at the age of 55, in my mind he was the last of a generation that actually knew what hard work was, that guy taught me allot about GM and it's inner workings, I'll never forget when he said, it's a race to the bottom! Damn it was he right. Around that time allot of people that started at GM in the early 70s started to retire, man I loved working with that age group they where honest and fun, the Black Sabbath era and Jackson five era of kids, I miss them. If I was CEO I'd do everything in my power to have the Cadillac assembled in Detroit and the Corvette assembled back in Flint, I would give Bowling green a truck or EVs to build, I would also keep the Camaro in Lansing, it's time to make GM fun again if that's even possible!? The people of Ohio should have received the new Blazer in Lordstown.. Further I would let the design teams to do their jobs and the engineers to do their jobs, our mission statement would be - GM's overriding priority is to provide Superior safety and quality to our customers, they are what makes us the world's top automotive manufacturer! Time to have fun again and get rid of the Drama greed queen, I want a new Pontiac Trans Am and that would be built in Pontiac across the street from Global Propulsion Systems Lab and Engineering. Wake up GM and listen to THE CUSTOMERS ! The Chevy Impala had the potential to be refined GM likes to discontinue modals rather than make them refined and this is a big reason why they loose so much money, work on making the product better and bring back style. Get to work GM it's time for a leadership change.
And Detroit is the jewel of Michigan.
Closing Pontiac is absurd and silly, just like the CEO and her crew, it's the test facility for God's sake! If "DemO tard" Mary had it her way she would allow Michigan to turn into California, a complete sewer.
Enough is enough already.

What a damn shame. Such a beautiful campus too.
Considering all the improvements they made to building B and the lab areas, it's hard to believe they will close B building completely, it's relatively a new facility.
There has been a big push recently to "bring back Pontiac". Yet we read crime stories from Pontiac at least once a week!
Incentives for businesses moving in, investments, road repairs..... now it's all gone! 0.5% city tax.... say the average is $75k for 3000 people. That accounts for more than $100 millon lost revenue for the city. GM will once again be seen as the culprit for a city going broke!
by december end, all moves will be concluded from pontiac, no idea what they'll do with the campus, if they want to save money they should close it buy there is nothing announced yet
