Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Constant Change, And Not For The Better

I am so over it with Walmart.

You can’t say anymore you can retire from Walmart because every 2 years they are changing each position.

People wake up.

They feel if they give you a $2.00 raise that is exciting, at a point it is but it will be taken away.

Walmart has hurt a lot of long term good people.

This company drove these associates to retire early or quite.

How and why do Wal-Mart continue to do this.

I understand they trying to keep up with other companies but they are failing by doing so.

Amazon will be winning. Publix will be winning. BJ will be winning. Costco will be winning.

Walmart please stop with the madness please think about how single mothers and fathers are losing because of the devastating change!

@ iscc: yeah, they're staffing their competitors---with their DEAD WEIGHT; clearing out the bad hered to make way for better managers. Ha ha. It's kinda like when the Reagan Administration sold junk arms to Libya and they tried to fire them on us.. the sh!t fell back down on their heads! :)

In regards to the pharmacy; Walmart is trying to "reset" the pharmacist wage scale which climbed and climbed during the pharmacist shortage. Well, all that has changed, now there is a "glut" of pharmacists and Walmart is now going to take advantage of the current landscape. Sadly, for many of the pharmacists, that is what businesses do.

They are actually staffing their competitors. I went from an ASM with 11 years experience to a store manager for Save A Lot. When I seen them axe cos and the rumor was ASMs were next. I put a few applications out and a Linkedin account up. Easy transition.

Retail is retail. I work for Walmart too. But what they are doing is not going to drive them to Amazon not f oiu r the grocery side of things everything else maybe who knows. Costco possibility they may beat us but people will still shop at Walmart. If it goes under it will be for pure greed for sure. Until it happens if Walmart workers use the employee school programs that they pay for would be smart because if they let us go we have something under our belts for a better job that's what I am doing.

Addressing one detail: companies claiming 'Well, we have to cut _ in oorder to remain competitive'.

B.S.

It's pure greed, nothing else. Lot of detail I could waste in supporting that statement, but what I already said sums it up.

Walmart got a billion dollars in tax cuts, had 4 billion dollars in profits last year, and apparently that's not enough for the greedy SOBs. They have to layoff thousands of hardworking people, destroying lives, so their corporate goons can all get million dollar bonuses.

Never mind the inconvenience to the customer that is going to drive shoppers even further into the arms of Amazon, which is ready and waiting for the business Walmart hands them.

I once thought Walmart was good for America. I no longer believe that to be the case.
