Thread regarding Best Buy layoffs

Best Buy Layoff

Best Buy will be announcing layoffs for several thousand people beginning in July 2019. This is not announced publicly yet but people should know about it. Most job positions have been frozen from hiring and every store in the company will be affected.

BestBuy is the worst company to work for they don't give a c-ap or a damn about you. Management c-aps all over you. They discriminate and we'll be getting sued very soon

Cont. They are sc-aping and clawing to stay relevant. It’s just a matter of time before they vow to Amazon even more or severely shrink their footprint. If you work in a store that has another within 10 miles of another? Give it time. One is going away. Best of luck to those who were let go. You are not alone and you won’t be the last.

BBY hasn’t had respect for employees for the last decade. Start with the first 50 store to close in 2010, then the geek squad/ field employees cut in 2012, then the 2300 manager dump in 2014, lets not forget project trumpet back in 2004ish that merged inventory and merchandising. This has been going on for years. The only way “what goes around” will become reality is if everyone just stops shopping there. I saved that company so much money and because I was at the top of my pay grade, of which I busted my behind and earned over 16 years, I got the slap in the face severance because I was too expensive. This company went from managers to supervisors to leads all to chip away at stock options and bonuses and pay scale so they can keep dividends going to stockholders because the margins aren’t there for profit anymore. They bought the medical communications company to tap in on the (what was it? Helen and Charlie empty nester store classification?) in hopes to cash in on Helen and Charlie dropping dead now that the baby boomers are dying off.

No respect for the people that really cared for the company. Very engaged hardworking and talented people being laid off and being humiliated by offering them bottom positions and salaries for high school part time kids. I am disgusted

They have affected the best supervisors/managers that cared for their jobs offering ridiculous jobs/salaries demotions. Best Buy will eventually regret letting all those talents and dedicated employees go.

I'm hearing a lot of uncertainty, but looks like Mobile Sups are out, new floor lead position will open as a key carrier, some VPL positions are gone, Home Theater SUP gone, lead positions are being limited per rev band stores. Lots of jobs at risk.
