Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Pharmacy Layoffs

Pharmacy manager, staff pharmacist and techs were all affected in my market.

Most had been with the company for many years but there are some that have been here longer that were not affected.

From what I can see this will eventually affect most of us in the not too distant future.

Especially if you have many years with the company and you are making a higher salary and have a lot of PTO.

They are not going to be obvious and lay off everyone with the most tenure at one time.

But they will do this in waves so that it’s not apparent that they are simply letting go of the people that make the most and have the most PTO so that they can simply rehire younger people out of school that will start with minimum PTO and a much lower salary.

I have no idea why Walmart is working so hard to destroy it's in house pharmacies, and hand the business over the Amazon's online pharmacy.

I was one of the techs cut today i’ve been with the company for 12 yrs but yet they kept the two other full time techs that have been with company for less time and hate being here but I guess that’s how this company works😕

Both technicians let go from our store were techs in training here for less than 8 months. Our staff pharmacist had been with the company less than a year and had jumped over from another sinking ship.

I was let go today. A pharmacy manager for 10 years. Pharmacist for almost 30. No reason but budget cuts. Yet they still need a manager for my store. Doesn’t make sense. I would have taken a pay cut if that was the reason so I was still employed.

Both pharmacists I’m aware of who were cut in Ohio had 20+ years.
