I've worked for walmart for 27 years and one thing I know for sure is they will lay you off with no hesitation. If eliminating your position is profitable to them, it will happen. Walmart is not in business to give people jobs. It's in business to make money and the more money the better. No position is safe. Be prepared. At some point the chopping block will come for you. I'm actually looking forward to the day my position gets eliminated so I can get severance and go.

Many people with the company that long get comfortable and stop working hard. They sit around and pretend to be busy and make the "underlings" do all the hard work. We get sick of seeing it and I'm glad they kick those people out.
don't assume you will get severance. Management now finds creative ways of making people look bad so they don't have to pay severance. I think a quality managers role should be to help people build their skills
