Layoffs are happening in the security department today. The VP has been let go, he's leaving 8/1.
Staff is being clobbered today. Not a big team though.

Are we still trying to get stuff off the mainframe or does firing a whole load of the people still working on trying to get the first real mainframe functionality off mean that we gave up on that now?
If we're really serious about getting off the mainframe and we run into problems like this then shouldn't we increase funding?
If these experienced people who were fired are replaced with fresh offshore people then good luck on getting it done at all.
